                   SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR

 

Iowa County is seeking applications for a Social Services/ADRC Department Director to serve as the executive and administrative officer of the Iowa County Social Services Department.  This position will have overall responsibility for the operation of this department of 25 employees, as well as provide direct supervision of management staff. Primary duties include but are not limited to the following: development and enforcement of department policy; communication and enforcement of County policies,  preparation and management of department budget; ensuring department compliance with federal, state, and local regulations;  oversight of employee hiring,  development and performance evaluation; and acts as the Department's point of contact with the community, including the State Department of Health and Family Services, other public and private social service agencies, and other County departments.    

 

Minimum qualifications include Master's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, Health Administration, Business Administration with a minimum of two years of Human/Social Services experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a similar field plus eight years of progressive management in Human/Social Services required with a minimum of two years management experience in a human services agency environment. Salary for this exempt position will be based upon candidates’ qualifications, with a current range of $54.53/hr. to $62.32/hr.  A generous comprehensive benefits package will be provided.
