Position Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health/Substance Use Supervisor to lead our Community Support Program (CSP) team. In this role, you will oversee a dedicated multidisciplinary team that includes clinical therapists, case managers, and home consultants. As supervisor, you will guide and collaborate with professionals across a variety of specialties—social work, nursing, vocational rehabilitation, therapeutic recreation, community mental health, substance use counseling, psychology, and psychiatry.

Our team delivers evidence-based services through the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model, ensuring clients receive comprehensive and coordinated care. Candidates with prior experience in ACT or community-based mental health and substance use services are strongly encouraged to apply.

Hours:  Monday-Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM. Participation in the supervisor's on-call rotation. Flexibility required to meet staff and participants needs. This position does offer comp time.
Remote Work:  Limited remote work is available with Manager's approval

Key Responsibilities

The following duties are most critical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

·         Recruits, hires, and trains clinical therapists, case managers, and home consultants (mental health technicians). 

·         Provides regular and consistent supervision of those staff in the performance of their assigned duties. 

·         Responsible for clinical supervision and clinical oversight of unit.

·         Prepares timely performance evaluations, including training plans and development plans to support staff

·         Participates in the review, development, and implementation of agency programs, policies, and procedures.

·         Ensures compliance with State and Federal standards, County and Department policies, and other laws and regulations.

·         Provides after-hours crisis consultation and after-hours crisis services as needed.

·         Coordinates assigned unit services with other Health and Human Services staff and outside agencies.

·         Provides treatment to consumers as necessary in assigned unit and other Health and Human Service units.

·         Ensures Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance.

·         Provides supervisory coverage for other supervisors during their absence.

·         Assists with the Emergency Support Function (ESF) 6 implementation of programs and services to aid victims of an emergency or disaster.     Assists with victim related recovery efforts such as crisis counseling and identifying support for persons with functional needs in affected areas.  

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience required in a mental health/substance use setting which includes supervisory experience.
  • Licensed or certified in the field of mental health or substance abuse for supervision and clinical oversight in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Certification in substance abuse assessment and treatment beneficial.

Required or Preferred Skills

  • Ability to assign, supervise, and review the work of assigned employees. 
  • Ability to make recommendations regarding the selection and discipline of employees.
  • Ability to identify, implement, and maintain fidelity of evidence based practices.
  • Ability to prepare and complete a variety of clinical documents including assessments, treatment plans, training materials, insurance forms, court reports, etc. 
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents including hospital, clinical, and other records, court documents, police reports, policy and procedure manuals, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with health professionals, law enforcement personnel, school personnel, judges and other court personnel, community groups and agencies, and others verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to transport oneself and others to and from various locations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including personal computer, photocopier, fax and telephone. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate decimals and percent's, and make use of the principles of descriptive statistics.
