Job Summary

This full time position is responsible to supervise and coordinate Economic Support specialists across the Northern Income Maintenance Consortium and economic support program services and staff in Lincoln County. Additionally, this position is responsible for determination of eligibility to the Energy Assistance Program and intervenes with utilities to avert utility disconnection. The work is performed under the direction of the Lincoln County Social Services Director and the Northern Income Maintenance Consortium Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are expected of this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Supervises staff across the Northern Income Maintenance (IM) Consortium to ensure
    prompt service and compliance with internal control, policies and procedures. Interprets
    and disseminates state policies and procedures. Directs use of various state and county
    computer programs and networks.
  • Coordinates, schedules, assigns, reviews, monitors and evaluates economic support cases
    for program compliance. Assists staff regarding special case problems.
  • Evaluates assigned staff work performance. Identifies training needs for new and
    existing staff. Provides guidance, support and training to staff.
  • Review and monitor performance reports. Prepares reports required by state and federal
    authorities and the Northern IM Consortium.
  • Conduct assurance reviews as directed by the Northern IM Consortium Manager.
  • Prepare team and individual performance reports as directed by the Northern IM
    Consortium Manager.
  • Coordinates completion of need determinations to establish client eligibility for economic
    support programs such as Child Care Assistance, Medicaid/BadgerCare, Food Share, and
    others designated by federal, state or county mandates.
  • Supervises and directs staff activities. Assists the Director in hiring, discipline,
    termination and other personnel actions.

Required Work Experienced/Essential Skills Required to Perform Position/Duties

High School diploma or equivalent and Associate Degree related to Human Services and four years economic support experience required, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Prior supervisory experience preferred. This position may require travel to and from other locations or meetings. Individual may use personal vehicle or other means of reliable transportation. Word processing and excel skills are essential. Knowledge of human behavior, motivation, crisis intervention, family and group dynamics, money management, interviewing and assessment skills, organizational and inter-personal skills are necessary along with excellent oral, interviewing and written communication skills.

 WAGE & Benefits:

This full-time position has a starting salary of $56,950.00 per year. This position is exempt.
