Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to make a difference? Marquette County’s Human Services Department is seeking a skilled Accountant to assist with fiscal operations, financial reporting, and budget preparation. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the department's financial health while supporting essential community programs.
What You’ll Do:
✔ Process accounts payable, receipts, and reconciliations ✔ Prepare fiscal reports for the State of Wisconsin ✔ Analyze financial data for department management ✔ Maintain compliance with funding sources and program requirements ✔ Support budgeting, billing, and contract tracking ✔ Collaborate with a dedicated team to enhance efficiency
What You Bring:
Education & Experience:
· Associate degree in accounting and 5 years’ experience. (required)
Skills & Abilities:
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and government funding regulations
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Valid Wisconsin driver’s license & access to insured transportation
