The role of PC/LAN Technician supports all user end devices and the software related to those devices. This is a full-time position working primarily Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, in-person.

Salary range: $57,283 - $73,652

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Device Support--Supports and maintains user end devices, hardware and software.  Must understand how to track and document all work related to supporting these devices using our Service Tracking System, IT Inventory System and IT documentation libraries. Support of these devices includes workstation setup, configuring, imaging, repairing, end-user setup and equipment moving. Provides end-user training and assistance when required.

Computer Network and Server Support--Installs and supports network wired and wireless communication links. Analyzes and resolves end-user computer connectivity problems. Implements and supports access for all remote County departments, municipalities and agencies connecting to the County computer network. Supports computer server hardware and server software at the downtown campus and remote sites.

Customer Service - Provide customer service using IT service model standards, provide expert customer support by phone or in person using the Service Encounter Manager System.

Keeps confidentiality of work related matters.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Good working knowledge of desktop equipment such as PCs, monitors, laptops, tablets, iPads, servers, multifunction printers, VoIP phones, Smartphones, scanners and related networked devices.
Technical knowledge of the operation and maintenance of computer hardware and peripherals.
Knowledge of current Microsoft operating systems on devices and servers.
Knowledge of Cisco and HP networking switches operating systems.
Ability to manage Windows Active Directory.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables and standardized situations.
Ability to be organized and follow through with good documentation have attention to detail.
Ability to travel to remote work sites, a valid driver's license is required.
Training, Experience and Other Requirements
•Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field.
•Two years of progressively responsible related experience in networking and information systems.
•Must have experience and keep current in Microsoft operating system, Microsoft
Office 365, Active Directory, MS SCCM, VMWare and Cisco Networking.
•Must be available for on call/call in after work hours to trouble shoot and fix system-related issues.
•May consider other relevant combinations of education and experience.
