This is a confidential secretarial and administrative support position working for the County Board Chair and Administrator's Office.  This role serves as a receptionist for the Administrative Center and spends a significant amount of time using creativity to develop media content, requiring a broad knowledge of organizational services. Employee works under general supervision and may exercise independent judgment within established guidelines after gaining adequate experience in the operation of the office.

Serves as receptionist for the County Administrative Center, County Administrator's Office, and County Board Chair. Answers inquiries of patrons and refers them to proper person or department when necessary. This role is expected to develop and maintain general knowledge about County departments and services.

Schedules meetings using MS Outlook Scheduler.

A significant amount of time is spent using creativity to develop and post social media content, and to develop and format organizational content such as PowerPoint presentations, brochures, and similar materials.

Types and prepares confidential and other correspondence and reports. Drafts correspondence and prepares reports from general instructions.

Performs other clerical duties as necessary.

Sets up and maintains electronic filing and record-keeping systems under general guidelines.

Prepares travel authorizations and makes hotel, car rental and other travel arrangements. Prepares voucher requests for payment of bills.

Keeps confidentiality of work-related matters.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent skills in office clerical functions, grammar and business English.
Strong skills and abilities to design, create, format and share social media posts, documents, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
Ability to compose letters and correspondence with minimal supervision and instruction.
Ability to carry out sometimes complex oral and written instructions.
Ability to work independently when necessary.
Ability to organize and maintain neat and orderly files and records.
Ability to work with confidential materials.
Ability to work with the general public, County officials and employees.
Ability to read, write and use independent judgment.
Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
Training, Experience and Other Requirements
Associate Degree in Administrative Assistant, Office Computer Specialist or other office clerical course or equivalent experience.
Five years of office experience, some at an administrative level and including the design, creation, and sharing of social media posts, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, etc..
High level of interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and clerical abilities.
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook Scheduler.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player.
